be used as provided in this code.In addition, authorized emergency vehicles may display revolving, flashing, or steady red warning lights to the front, sides or rear of the vehicles.

Kurzform: jedes in Californien zugelassene Einsatzfahrzeug muss ein rotes
Leuchtmittel nach vorn verbaut haben das min. 380 meter weit zu sehen ist.
Alles andere kann, muss aber nicht. (Gilt auch für den amber flasher, der ist auch keine Pflicht.)
